Is it just me, or is everyone renovating their home at this very moment? Whether it be a kitchen, bathroom or outdoor area it seems like everyone is either renovating or knows someone who is.
I always have my eyes peeled for new and unique design trends. One trend that has surfaced all over home renos, home build shows and magazines are hand crafted terracotta, stone and geometric patterned tiles. These looks are dressing up both interior and exterior spaces.
What I love about certain trends is the ability to reuse remnant pieces in a unique and creative way. If you have any extra tiles, or have a friend with a few project spares, repurpose them into one-of-a-kind coasters.
The polyurethane will keep the tile from yellowing and also helps with durability. Once the first layer dries add a second coat for protective measure.
The felt backing, which you can purchase here, will allow your coaster to sit level on the table and will help to prevent any scratches on your furniture.
If you do not have a tile connection, head over to a tile supply store and see if they are willing to let you have some of their project leftovers or old floor samples.
